A double give-away (finished sleep sack + fabrics)

Remember that Lua sleepsack I made a while ago? This week, you can win it. No, not the pattern, but the actual finished sleep sack. Ava has been refusing to wear a sleep sacks for months, so this sleep sack has not been used, and likely will never be if I don’t give it away.

The sleep sack is a size 1Y, made from my Lua pattern. It is batted with 100% wool (Quilters’ Dream), and closes with a blind zipper in the side. The main fabric is from Cloud 9’s Shape of Spring line, designed by Eloise Renouf, and 100% certified organic cotton.

Sew Mama Sew’s Give-away Day looks like the perfect occasion to give it away. If you would like to win, all you need to do is leave a comment, saying why you would like to win it. The winner will be chosen purely randomly.

As I am in a give-away mood, I would also like to do a little more de-stashing. Let’s call it early New Year’s resolutions (though I should probably vow to less fabric buying, rather than more de-stashing).

One winner will receive the following fabric pack:
– 1 yard of Playing Koi in Cream, from Birch’s Eiko line
– 1 yard of Of A Feather in Indigo, designed by Rashida Coleman-Hale for Cloud 9
– 1 yard of Nest, designed by Valori Wells for Westminster fabrics

(Nope, the basket and scissors are not included in the prize package.)

You can take your chance by using the Rafflecopter below. Good luck!

  1. I would love to win the fabrics to make something for my 2 sons. I think these would work great for making an art set to hold their art supplies.

  2. I would love to the sleep sack because on one hand it looks great and one the other I really need more sacks. My smallest seems to need a new one every morning no matter what I try…

  3. I'd love to win this fabric because I've never used or even seen any Cloud9 fabrics and I've heard they are amazing! Plus, I have 5 boys (the 6th boy is coming, so I could use that sleep sack, too!), and these fabrics are definitely “boy”!

  4. I have a frined who is a new grandmama, and her little one would love the feel of the organic fabrics. That is a lovely little fabric bundle also. Thank you for sharing your talents.

  5. Oh, you just keep on shopping for fabric…we don't mind! As long as you feel the urge to de-stash with us, we're all happy! I just happen to have a fabric in my stash to match each of yours to make something beautiful, so that's why I want to win!

  6. We are half way to meeting our baby girl so the sleep sack would certainly get used here next year. As a bonus in pretty sure my boys would love to have something made from the fabrics too. Thanks for the giveaway!

  8. I would love to win the sleepsack! I have several friends who just had babies and a few more expecting! We are just starting to discuss having our second, so this is a pattern I'll need soon as well. šŸ™‚

  9. well actually I would prefer the sleeping bag … but why do I want the fabrics, because I seem to be unable to buy anythign that even has a touch of low volumen, those fabrics just don't register with me

  10. Heel mooie stofjes!

  11. We have 2 new grandchildren in our family. It seems like this is more popular than quilts, but I will still make them a quilt. Any new parent would love this.

  12. I would like to win these fabrics, because they are insanely awesome šŸ™‚ I don't really know what I would make with these. Something for the home may be. (owl.laughing@gmail.com)

  13. Perfect timing, I was planning to make a sleep sack for my Grandson next week (getting quite cold around here), may be I won't have to!! Keeping my fingers crossed! Thanks for the chance.

  14. I love the Koi and Tsuru collections, planning a new quilt with the small amount of Tsuru that I have left, so an additional piece would be really useful.

  15. My son needs a new sleeping bag and I absolutely love this one. The fabric is awesome….

And that fish frabric is great too, I would make a pillow for my colleague…. I'm always teasing her with her fish (I'm not a fan of fish šŸ˜‰ )

  16. I think something went wrong with my comment, but forgive me if this is a duplicate. I would like to win the fabric because I love that Koi print and haven't been able to find it locally. Thanks.

  17. Ooo Ooo the Koi fabric! I've been collecting special lovely Koi fabrics for 10 years, going to make a large quilt with them once I find enough that I like – and I like this one!

  19. What a fantastic giveaway. I would love the Birch fabrics because, being fairly new to sewing, I never know what fabric is the right kind to get. I would love to start my collection with some beautiful fabric and get crafty šŸ™‚

  20. Oh, what a gorgeous sleep sack! I've got a 5 week old boy, and this would be great for him next winter (we're just at the start of summer here in New Zealand) – we had a sleep sack for our older child and it was brilliant, so I've been planning on getting a new one anyway – a handmade one would be fabulous! šŸ™‚

    macska at gmail dot com

  21. I love the fabric you're giving away! I've never seen that Koi print before – it's gorgeous. šŸ™‚ (The selection we get in my town is rather small….) Thanks for the chance to be in to win!

    macska at gmail dot com

  22. So neat! My new grandchild is coming in April and I am giving his/her mother a sewing machine for Christmas. She'd like to learn to sew and I am happy to help šŸ™‚

  23. Why would any person who sews not want more fabrics!? My daughter and I do some charity sewing and I can see that those fabrics would be put to great use.

  24. I would love to win the fabric because I'm a bit of a fabric hoarder, just kidding (sort of)… I would love the chance to play with that koi fabric (and the other 2 of course)! Thanks! Sarah: crjandsbj(at)netzero(dot)com

  25. I'd love to win some fabric that I've never seen. As we are very limited as to what the stores here have for sale… And my kids love to have clothes made with fun new fabrics. Thanks for a chance to win!! šŸ™‚

  28. that sleep sack is beautiful and I and my little girl would count ourselves lucky to win it! As for the fabrics…how generous! I am a quilter so it would probably sit on my desk and get petted for awhile and then I would chop it all up and make a beautiful quilt!

    Thanks for the chance

  33. I would love to win the sleepsack because my 1 yo loves her sleepsacks. Like walks around hugging them like a blankie. And the fabric, well, it would be a lovely addition to my stash (and the cream one looks like it would work well for a project I'm dreaming of).

    tushay3(at)yahoo(dot)com

  36. The whale fabric will be part of a quilt for my grandson, the red fabric would be part of a quilt for one of my nephews and the Valori Wells fabric would be just for me. I have a FQ of it and will not cut it up. šŸ™‚

    tushay3(at)yahoo(dot)com

  37. I very rarely by a entire yard of fabric at a time but when I do it is just such a special treat! I would really enjoy winning a whole yard of fabric

  38. I would like to win these fabrics to make pillow cases for the local children's hospital. The sleep sack would be for my new grand nephew expected in March.

  39. We have as brand new baby in the family. The sleep sack would be perfect. I have to admit, I am a fabric addict . If I keep bringing more fabric home, I'll have to sign up for a 12 step program.

  40. I would love to win that sleepsack! I have a 8 month old that will very soon be able to wear that sleep sack! We use sleepsacks every night so she doesn't kick her covers off! Thanks so much for the giveaway. cherisetoweratgmaildotcom

  41. I love giving gift packages to new mothers and that sleep sack would be a perfect addition! I'd love to get the fabrics, too. That fish one on top is soo cool.

  42. I would love to win the sleep sack. I am having a baby in January and I don't know what it is (boy or girl I will be delighted). Your sleep sack is so beautiful and I would love to give it a home in Australia ready for my little ones first Australian Winter, it should be just about the time I can't swaddle and need a sleep sack.

  43. My sister loves Japanese fabrics and she is about to move into a new house so I would love to make her some sewing basket bags for her first ever real dedicated sewing room.

  44. I would love to win the sleepsack. Its gorgeous. And the fabrics, i would use for pillows, handbags or clothes for my kids. Love the fabrics! Thanks for the giveaway

  45. I'd love to win either the sleep sack or the fabric! I'd use the fabric to make clothes for my niece (who would also be the recipient of the sleep sack).

  46. That sleep sack looks so cozy! Our fourth little girl is half a year off season from all her other sisters, and she needs something cozy and warm to sleep in that is her size! This would be just perfect.
    Thanks for the chance!

  47. Hi there An,
I would love to win the baby sleep sack as it is beautiful and obviously very well-made. It would be the perfect thing to give at a baby shower. Those fabrics you are offering are lovely too-I have yet to buy any 'modern' fabric and have never had the chance to use organic!
Thanks so much for the giveaway,

  51. I just found Straight Grain via Pinterest (I am new there) and I love it. Great tutorials, wonderful creations, beautiful pictures. I already pinned a few. Why I would like to win the sleeping bag and the fabrics? Because my newborn girl Lili Roos (2 months old) is sitting on my lap, staring at the screen, telling me with her puppy dog eyes that she wants the sleeping bag. And who can deny something to a baby girl (with great taste)?

  52. My parents have a pond in their back yard and my father is particularly proud of his koi. I find it hard to find “boy” fabric sometime but this would make something nice for him.

  53. The sleep sack would be great for my baby grandson, and his brother is crazy about fish right now and the fabric would be awesome to make a duvet cover for his bed. I love the feather fabric too and might use it for the duvet cover or keep it for myself!
