Beautiful fabrics do not need too many bells and whistles. Stitch them to some batting, add piping in a matching color, use some supersoft towellike fabric for the backing…
… and you have a lovely baby blanket. I had been eying this Monaluna fabric (Pomegranates, from their Raaga line) weeks before it came out, and it looked perfect for a cool baby blanket. A perfect alternative for the pink stuff I’m allergic to. And I’m so happy with the quality of this fabric! The colors stay bright and the fabric soft after washing it. The problems which the earliest Monaluna lines had been dealing with, have obviously been solved.
Meanwhile, a historic moment at Casa StraightGrain: Ava has been falling asleep on her Bean Bag since a couple of days. A great step forward for a baby who wakes up the minute you put her in her bed. More sewing time for mom!
